Friends with Benefits is a romcom for straight people who have come around to the idea of fuck buddies.
It's a significant film in a genre which hasn't caught up with the sexual liberation of the 70s, not to say the modern era's promise of guilt-free sex and emotional blackmail-free relationships.
Surprisingly, the film is also proof that it's possible to make a charming and funny romcom out of modern social mores.
